Alfred Kemble: Conscientious Objector 1914 -18 War.
Having spent many years prior to the war campaigning against going to war he was presented with the dilema 'what to do now war is declared'. He presented himself to the 'Recruiting Sergeant' as somebody else and subsequently went to prison, where he stayed for the duration of the war.
I intend to develop this site with all the information I can gather so that any interested persons can read about the life of a 'Conshie' and the effects it had upon his family.
